Oxford Playscripts: A Christmas Carol
Author(s): Richard Kidd; Conor McReynolds; Charles Dickens
Ebenezer Scrooge is a grumbling, cold-hearted, shrivelled old miser who deplores the warmth and merriment of Christmas. One freezing, candlelit Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the chain-bound ghost of his old business partner, Jacob Marley, who seeks to warn him of the error of his ways. Over the course of the night, a series of spirits arrive, but can they teach Scrooge the true meaning of Christmas before it's too late?
