This new textbook for senior History takes a comprehensive look at the key political, military, social and economic events and developments of the 20th century, both beyond and inside New Zealand. It examines the impact on New Zealand as a whole, as well as New Zealanders’ roles and responses. The textbook is written to meet the needs of the New Zealand Curriculum and the decontextualized nature of the assessments. It is most useful for both Level 1 and Level 2 courses, with the literacy needs of a diverse range of students catered for. It is richly illustrated and is accompanied by a student workbook. Teachers may find it useful to work collectively on a selection of sections or topics, then let students pursue their own interests elsewhere in the book.
